During an event that took place at Nican Resort in Seguku along Entebbe Road, Fr. Raymond Kalanzi, the organisation's patron said:

He explained that the organisation has a board that sits, nominates who qualifies for the award in accordance to helping the poor.

"You know in our country we have a tendency of looking for people in other countries to help locals here. Recently, we also awarded Nakiwala Kiyingi, as the first woman receiver of the award," said Kalanzi.

Kalanda, said he has tried to help the poor in different way and the award is a sign of appreciation towards his contribution.

"I believe that it doesn't harm to give less privileged part on what God has given to you. Personally, I am truly humbled, we are going to hang this award somewhere in our house and it will act as a remembrance of today's fun-filled event."

Prof. Nabanoga, lauded Fr. Kalanzi for dedicating his work for preaching the gospel and helping the poor through Teresa Ministries. She noted that at first, she didn't know the significance of engaging in charity, but the initiative has positively impacted on the lives of less privileged.
