CALL FOR APPLICATIONS FOR BURSARIES UNDER THE ALBERTINE REGION SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT PROJECT OF THE MINISTRY OF EDUCATION AND SPORTS

About the bursary scheme

The Government of Uganda, through the Ministry of Education and Sports, is providing free training under the Albertine Region Sustainable Development Project bursary scheme to learners from the Albertine region. The trainees will undergo skills training from accredited public and private training institutions in the country. The training will improve skills development in the Albertine Region so as to increase employability primarily for the Oil and Gas Industry but also to the benefit of the wider economy in the region.

The Ministry now invites applications for bursaries from learners in the Albertine districts of Nebbi, Nwoya, Buliisa, Masindi, Kiryandongo, Hoima, Kibaale, Bunyangabu, Kakumiro, Kagadi, Kyenjojo, Kabarole, and Ntoroko

Who is eligible to apply?

The applicant must be: a)

  1. Ugandan citizen;
  2. Should have been living in the Albertine region districts of Nebbi, Nwoya, Buliisa, Masindi, Kiryandongo, Hoima, Kibaale, Bunyangabu, Kakumiro, Kagadi, Kyenjojo, Kabarole, and Ntoroko for the past fi ve years; 
  3. Trainees should have a minimum of an O level certifi cate or craft 1 or craft 2 technical certifi cate, or Uganda Vocational Qualifi cations Framework (UVQF) level 1 or level 2 certifi cates; and 
  4. Not in receipt of any other bursary from other sources.Preference will be given to women candidates.
