The Mayor of Nakawa  Division Ronald  Nsubuga Balimwezo    has said that the smallest percentage  of fathers  have the vigilance of educating their children.

Balimwezo  said the biggest percentage of men think about sports betting , taking  alcohol and  watching European league games where they spend a lot of money.

‘‘Iam appealing to fathers who  are not vigilant in educating their children   to start doing so because when these children become respected people in future the men are instead praised in  offering the biggest  part in educating them yet their wives took all the responsibility of doing  so.

"I was a  fisherman at only eight years  but my mother saw that this was not the right thing for me to do at that time  and she struggled  to get money  to educate me , right now I am among the most recognised mayors  internationally and thank God all praises go to my mother," says  Balimwezo.

He said this while officiating at the dedication and confirmation service at Motherwell Junior  School in Mutungo   last week.

The  Principal of the School , Billy Semusu appealed to  former  Primary Seven candidates who  completed their exams last week   to  help their parents  in doing house work and also  learn vocational skills that will help them to be engaged  through the vacation instead  of   watching television all the time.

Semusu added that these  vocational skills  can help them to   start their own jobs in future which will help curb the problem of unemployment in Uganda today especially among the youth.

Rev Fr Zidolo Mbareeba from Biina parish confirmed 32 children and prayed for the 26 candidates who sat  for their exams last week   with a request of asking them to go out in the world and serve the Lord
