Police arrest 27 at Bobi Wine's Kyarenga concert

A total of 27 people were arrested from Bobi Wine's show dubbed "Kyarenga Concert" which took place on Saturday.

Addressing journalists at the police's weekly briefing at Kampala Central Police Station, the Kampala Metropolitan police spokesperson, Luke Owoyesigire said the 27 were arrested for theft and other petty crimes.

"Most of these were caught stealing other people's items, especially snatching women bags, phones and other valuables. Others were found fighting due to excessive drinking and those ones can cautioned because they were doing it under influence," he said.

The 27 are detained at Katwe Division Police. "They are going to be screened and the remaining ones will be arraigned in court," Owoyesigire noted.
