KAMPALA - Big strikers promotion company has vowed to take boxer Shafik Kiwanuka to greater heights in the boxing professional ranks.
Chairman Sam Buchanan disclosed this at a media briefing in Muyenga on Thursday where Kiwanuka was unveiled as the heavy weight professional boxer to face Kenya’s Obadiah Mwangi in the fight due on Liberation Day.
“Our target is to take boxing to the level it was during Idd Amin’s times, but to reach there we have to promote quality boxers to win medals and belts for Uganda and that is why we promoted Kiwanuka to professional boxing,” Buchanan said.
“We want Kiwanuka to be fighting the likes of world champion Anthony Joshua in two years’ time, “he added.
Emma Mwesigwa, the big striker’s operational manager said their target is to turn Kampala into the LasVegus Africa by having back to back International professional fights.
