Madondo named Real Stars player of the month

KAMPALA - Kirinya Jinja SS striker Joel Madondo has been named the player of the month (October) at the Real Stars Sporting Agency awards Thursday morning at Khalifa Executive Suites, Bugolobi. 

Madondo who currently leads the scoring chart in the StarTimes Uganda Premier League with six goals won the award ahead of Vipers' Moses Waiswa and Onduparaka' s Vianne Ssekajugo who were the other nominees for the award.

Onduparaka's Asaph  Mwebaze  was voted coach of the month over Vipers' Martinez Espinosa and KCCA FC's Mike Mutebi.

Both Mwebaze and Madondo walked away with accolades plus a cash prize of sh500,000 each.

KCCA FC fan Vero Nambi was also named the fan of the month. Nambi will be treated to a VVIP night with his beloved one at Khalifa Executive Suites.

Apart from football, Real Stars Sporting Agency will also be rewarding monthly performers in netball, basketball and rugby.

Elfirsan Group, Jude Color Solutions and Khalifa Executive Suites injected sh20m, sh18m and sh16m sponsorship respectively to run the awards.

"This is something that was first proposed and I believe it has been a success. We shall continue to improve it to higher levels and also call upon other enterprises to join us to promote it further,"stated Tarig Mohammed, owner Elfirsan Group and Khalifa Executive Suites.

Jude color solutions PRO Madrine Nabatanzi, former Uganda Cranes players Jackson Mayanja and Andrew Mwesigwa are some the guests that attended the event.
