Nsambya Rotarians to refurbish Kabalagala Police Community Clinic

KAMPALA- The Rotary Club of Kampala –Nsambya has made a commitment to renovate Kabalagala Police Community Clinic.

The Nsambya Rotarians have also promised to provide clean water to Nakyesa Trading Centre and Lugasa Health Centre III, in Kayunga district.

The noble pledge was made by the president of the club, Rtn Fr Dr Edward Kakuba Kapia, during the club’s extra-ordinary annual fellowship, The World’s Greatest Meal, at Sheraton Hotel on Friday.

“Good health is one of the key indicators of a quality population. We thus decided that the proceeds from tonight’s fundraising function will be directed towards expanding Kabalagala Police Community Clinic, which is currently hosted in a small room.

We intend to construct more rooms for the clinic. We also intend to help two girls join the university by offering them scholarships,” said Kakuba Kapia.

The function was also graced by international guests from the US and the UK. They included Sr Joan Yates (UK), David Tsiang and his wife Rtn Michelle Tsui (from the Rotary Club of Menlo Park, USA).

During the function, the Rotarians raised US$7,000 (about sh26m) towards the refurbishment of Kabalagala Police Community Clinic.

The big donors included Michelle Tsui and David Tsiang (US$1,000), PDG Ken Mugisha (US$500), Fr Kakuba Kapia (US$500), Francis Sennabulya (US$300), Mike Kironde (US$500), Dr Flugensio Jjuuko, Engineer James Kalibbala, Francis Semwanga and charter president Francis Lubowa.

The guests were entertained by the Brackets Band and students from Janan Luwum Schools.
