Notice from Ministry of Agriculture

The Government of Uganda has received financing from the World Bank toward the Agriculture Cluster Development Project and intends to apply part of the proceeds for Consulting Services.

The Consulting Services (‘the Services) include Environmental and Social Impact Assessment (ESIA) of:

• Lot 1: Lumbuye Irrigation Scheme in Iganga District and Bukagolo Irrigation Scheme in Bugiri District.

• Lot 2: Aswa Irrigation Scheme in Nwoya District and Ayila Irrigation Scheme in Amuru District.

Consultants may express interest in either one or both lots. EOIs for partial lots shall not be accepted.

The overall objective of the assignment is to undertake Environmental and Social Impact Assessment (ESIA) for the development of Irrigation Schemes and associated infrastructure and facilities. The implementation period for the services is Six (6) Calendar Months.

The Consulting Services (‘the Services) include Feasibility Studies and Preparation of Detailed Designs for:

• Lot 1: Lumbuye Irrigation Scheme in Iganga District and Bukagolo Irrigation Scheme in Bugiri District.

• Lot 2: Aswa Irrigation Scheme in Nwoya District and Ayila Irrigation Scheme in Amuru District

Consultants may express interest in either one or both lots. EOIs for partial lots shall not be accepted.

The Overall objective of the study is to provide a range of options for multipurpose water supply and irrigation development in a manner that is technically feasible, financially responsible and environmentally sustainable and based on a workable and cost effective management.
