Kirinya Jinja SS head coach Charles Ayiekoh has been added to the Uganda U-23 technical team as a volunteer.
 
Ayiekoh replaces Uganda Cranes head coach Sebastian Desabre who is busy preparing the national team for the game against Cape Verde in the 2019 AFCON qualifiers and the international friendly match with Nigeria.
 
Ayiekoh will deputise Wasswa Bbosa who is currently the head coach of the team. The duo will be assisted by Sadiq Wassa and Yahaya Katumba as the goalkeeping coach and medical officer respectively, while Ayub Balyejusa is the team Coordinator.
 
The U-23 team (Kobs) are preparing to take on South Sudan for 2019 AFCON U23 qualifiers. Uganda will play South Sudan in the first round matches between November 12 and 20.
 
13 countries have been handed byes into the second round of the competition that has attracted 43 teams. The winner between Uganda and South Sudan after the two-legged affairs will meet Tunisia. Egypt will host the finals in 2019.
 
The Kobs will this weekend (Sunday) have their first build-up game against a Buganda Select in a regional tour match at Bukalasa Agricultural Institute ground in Luweero
