The format which allows teams to face each other once as opposed to the traditional double leg fixtures no doubt creates tension in the competition.

"You lose one game and it's like all over. So every game is like a final" Barbra Mukankusi, Pioneer skipper said earlier last week.

Olila High School who specifically prepared for the long format league had started on the back foot in the early stages, losing against favourites Damani who were as well stunned in their second game against Pioneer.

However, Olila is soldiering on in their quest for a maiden 50 overs league title and the brutal manner in which they stopped Wanderers upholds their favourites' status.

Damlie Busingye is growing in leaps and bounds as a dependable player for the Soroti outfit. It took her some time to adjust in the set up following her return from Rwanda. She is now rampant where it matters most for the hungry giants.

The youngster scored a brutal half-century of 86 from 100 balls in a major 222 runs win over Wanderers Saturday at Kyambogo Oval. Teammates Janet Mbabazi and Proscovia Alako impressed with the bat as well. The former scored a halfton of 67 from 68 balls with the latter completing 42 from 36 balls.

The win means that Olila leads the standings on 17 points although have played a game more than second-placed Pioneer.
