Mothers' Union head gets rousing welcome in Gulu

Hundreds of members of Mothers' Union in the greater Dioceses of Northern Uganda on Sunday gave rousing welcome to Mothers' Union president Lynne Tembey.

Tembey and her entourage touched down in Gulu at 9:30am, flanked by the provincial Mothers' Union president of the Province of the Church of Uganda, Dr Ruth Ssenyonyi, the 7th Anglican bishop of the Diocese of Northern Uganda, Rev. Johnson Gakumba and his wife Christine Gakumba, Diocese of Northern Uganda Mothers' Union president, Cik Moses among others.

"I am very happy and so touched by your rousing welcome to me in this great Diocese of Northern Uganda today. I want to thank Bishop Johnson Gakumba and his wife, Dr Ruth Ssenyonyi and all the members of the Mothers' Union in Uganda for receiving in a big way in Uganda," said Tembey.

 

Tembey and her team then headed to St Philip Cathedral near Gulu High School for prayers.

Her main agenda for the visit is peace, unity, reconciliation, sharing the word of God and charting a way forward towards the strengthening the ministry of God with the people of Northern Uganda, the entire country and the whole world.

This is the first time head of the Mothers' Union is visiting the diocese of Northern Uganda at its headquarters in Gulu.
