Oxfam is an international NGO confederation which works in over 90 countries to fi nd lasting solutions to poverty, inequality and injustice. In Uganda, Oxfam started work in the 1960s and since then it has continued implementing both development and humanitarian projects to support practical innovative ways for people to lift themselves out of poverty and thrive.

The Government of Uganda in partnership with the Federal Republic of Germany are funding a Refugee Response Fund (RRF) in Northern Uganda in the Districts of Yumbe and Arua. The RRF was established to support sustainable and longerterm solutions and to address the immediate needs of refugees and host communities in Uganda.

The project follows the Government of Uganda's Settlement Transformation Agenda (STA). Under the RRF arrangement, Oxfam in Uganda is implementing a three-year project in Rhino Camp Refugee settlement and its host community, Arua district. The project titled ‘'Scaled up sustainable domestic water supply and sanitation service infrastructure in Rhino Camp Refugee settlement, Arua district, Northern Uganda'' aims to reduce vulnerability of crisis-affected people (both refugees and host community) especially women and children, to water and sanitation related diseases. This project is supervised by the German Financial Cooperation (KFW) and Offi ce the Prime Minister (OPM).
