Uganda's national women's football team, the Crested Cranes, are raring to take on hosts South Africa in the semifinals of the 2018 COSAFA Women's Championship on Thursday.

"The players are in good condition except two who are injured and under the supervision of the doctors," said coach Farida Bulega.

"The morale is high and our aim was to play with some top countries that have been in the AFCON finals."

Bulega said they will pay close attention to the atticking department.

"We want to be calm when playing South Africa, especially in the striking force and I am sure we shall win the game.

"We are going to beef up our striking force and at the same time strengthen the defense," she said.

On Monday, Crested Cranes beat Zimbabwe 2-1 to progress to the semifinals while hosts South Africa humbled Malawi 6-0.

The victory over Zimbabwe also saw Crested Cranes top Group C on seven points from three games. They beat Swaziland in their opening game and drew with Namibia in their second game.

Crested Cranes and giants Cameroon are the two guest teams that are taking part in the event.
