After huge financial boost, Warriors eye top five finish

KAMPALA - Warriors Rugby Club have set their sights on bettering their performance this year by finishing in the top five of the Nile Special Rugby Premier League.

The club's new coach Kevin Makmot said they want finish the season on a high -- and to achieve that, he is keen on dealing with discipline and fitness.

"It is a tough job for me, but am going to first work on discipline of players on and off pitch and also enhance training to a fitter team," he said.

This was on Friday in Kampala after the club unveiled a sh180m three-year partnership deal with DusuPay, an online money transfer system.

"My philosophy has always been a young generation and I think the club can grow big and strong with the youngsters as a long-term club target," said Makmot.

The retired rugby player, who played for Rugby Cranes as a scrum-half and kicker, said he will focus on recruiting young players to strenghten the team in the future.

Before joining Warriors. the level 1 coach was at Rimula Rhinos for two seasons.
