Man murders wife over sex

Tragedy struck residents of Nabirele village,Idinda parish in Namalemba subcounty,  Bugweri district when a 30-year-old peasant farmer hacked his wife accusing her of frequently denying him sex.

The deceased Mega Shakira Naiwumbwe was hacked on the head by an axe after being accused by her husband, Musa Bakaki of having extramarital affairs.

The LC1 chairman Nabirele village, Derick Ngobi,  said the accused who is currently on the run had educated  Naiwumbwe  up to university level where she pursued a course in  nursing but he was shocked when she instead denied him sex whenever she came back home from work.

Bakaki  is reported to have hit Naiwumbwe with  an axe on the head before fleeing 

Residents rushed to the scene only to find the body of Naiwumbwe  lying in a pool of blood with the blood stained axe lying beside it.

The officer in charge, Idudi police station, Timothy Batuwa said investigations into the matter are still underway.

Batuwa said the accused will be charged with murder in case he is arrested.

He urged couples to always solve their issues in a peaceful manner instead of resorting to violence.
