Hosts Entebbe has the biggest number of entries.
Over 60 junior golfers from six clubs across the country will test themselves against each other in the Uganda Junior Golf Open that returns to the golfing calendar this year, at Entebbe Club on Wednesday.
Hosts Entebbe, at 27, has the biggest number of entries that include: Robert Kansiime, Joel Baluku, Clause Kakuru, Joel Kizza, Elton Thembo, Brian Mugabe, Arnold Manjekia and Julius Gumisiriza.
The rest are Ninsiima Tumusiime, Innocent Kure, Frista Birabwa, Casey Mwaka, Treasure Byamukama, Gilbert Nuwamanya, Brian Ochaya, Emma Mukisa, Calvin Monne and Musa Kirya among others.
US golfers Zane Austin Saudor and Zakahrg Nile Saudor who are attached to Entebbe Club and International School of Uganda’s Anton Krisch are also entered for the tournament designed for only handicapped juniors (girls and boys) between the ages of 12-18 from UGU affiliated clubs.
Kilembe Club has entered Chris Muhindo, Hassan Keyi, Tonny Baguma, Edgar Masereka, Rita Biira, Rachael Kabugo, Philbert Kambalo and Godfrey Kambalo.
The rest are Machinon Masereka, Frederick Masereka, Hussein Kato, Dismas Kule, Drius Thembo, John Sabuse and Zubairi Keyi.
Godfrey Nsubuga, Samuel Bogere, Phoebe Chandiru, Tom Billa, Florence Acio and Nelson Mubiru from Mehta Golf Club as well as Zavi Mugume, Saturday Arinaitwe, Patrick Kizza, Edwin Musimenta and Nicholas Karasuma from Tooro Club and Patrick Okoth, Deagon Ogola, Kenneth Obbo and Stephen Owori from Tororo are some of the other youngsters expected to contest for trophies that wait.
There will be a gross winner and three net winners’ trophies for each category (boys & girls). The Uganda Junior Academy will be launched thereafter.
