MP Zaake charged with treason, allowed to travel abroad

Zaake had asked to be flown to India for treatment, but the Government declined his request pending determination by government doctors.

The Mityana Municipality Member of Parliament, Francis Zaake has been charged with treason.

Zake has been in hospital since the chaotic elections in Arua, where he was allegedly arrested and beaten by security operatives.

Zaake had asked to be flown to India for treatment, but the Government declined his request pending determination by government doctors.

He was on Monday charged with treason and allowed to travel for treatment.

According to the Police bond dated September 3, Zaake is expected to report to Police on October 3 at 10:00am.
