The National Rugby 7s Circuit defending Champions Betway Kobs are not ready to let this year's title go without a fight.

Kobs' captain Brian Asaba said they are aware of the battle ahead of them, but they are determined to win the last two circuits of the Guinness National Rugby 7s series starting with these weekend's Edward Kitaka Memorial floodlights 7s at Legends Rugby Club.

Trailing Pirates by 14, Kob sbelieve they can defend their title if they win the  remaining two circuits and Pirates faulters in the quarter-final stage.

"We know there is a big challenge ahead of us, but we have to win these two remaining circuits to give our fans confidence ahead of next season which kicks off in October with the Uganda Cup," Asaba said.

Kobs has won only one circuit (Mbarara 7s) out of the six played, with Pirates winning three (Kyadondo, Jinja and Coronation Cup).

"I know it is too complicated, but we are out to win the two circuits and leave the mathematics to work its way," Asaba added.

However, Pirates are not taking anything for granted and will be lining up their best squad which includes Ivan Magomu, Byron Kasozi, Timothy Kisiga, Emma Emanzi and Desire Ayera, all national team players.
