Archbishop Lwanga calls for peace in the country

Bishop Lwanga was referring to the recent brutal murders in the country.

KAMPALA - Archbishop of Kampala Archdiocese, Dr Cyprian Kizito Lwanga and chairman of Uganda Joint Christian Council (UJCC) expressed his concern about the current situation in the country.

Lwanga was refering to the recent brutal murders such as the sacrifices which were being carried out by a witch doctor in Kayunga who was found with bodies of missing people, the young man who murdered his friend over sh1000 and the shooting of MP Kyadondo East, Robert Kyagulanyi aka Bobi Wine's driver.

The Archbishop made the remarks after joining a couple into holy matrimony at Sacred Heart of Mary Cathedral Lubaga on Friday.

He decried the incidents saying that torturing of innocent people is increasing in the country which is worrying the citizens.

He said that the situation in the country is worrying and he urged the authorities responsible for the current situation to ensure that all is calm.

"We should all work towards having a peaceful country right from our homes, villages, communities and country at large," he said.

Quoting remarks of President Yoweri Museveni, Lwanga said that all those inciting violence should use the law in the right procedure.
