SC Villa beats URA to qualify for Super 8 semi-finals

SC Villa has joined Nyamityobora and KCCA in the semi-finals of the competition.

SC Villa have eliminated URA from Pilsner Super 8. The Jogoos beat URA 1-0 today at Mandela National stadium, Namboole to progress to the semi-finals.   

Villa who are still assembing a new team after losing a lot of players, put up a decent performance. URA missed a lot of scoring opportunities.

Ajab Abdulrahman scored the only goal in the 17th minute off Ambrose Kirya's assist. Kirya who was also the captain for jogoos, walked away with man of match award and a prize of sh150,000 from the organisers.

The Pilsner Super 8 is a pre-season tournament played by the top six teams from the Uganda Premier League and two clubs that were promoted directly from FUFA Big League.

Uganda Breweries Limited (UBL) through their brand Pilsner are the official sponsors of the tournament after injecting in sh90m.

SC Villa has joined Nyamityobora and KCCA in the semi-finals of the competition.

Nyamityobora shocked Kirinya Jinja SS with a 1-0 win on Tuesday, while KCCA beat BUL 3-2 last weekend to become the first team to make it to the semi-final of the competition. League champions Vipers opted out of the competition due ot other engagements.
