CONSULTANCY SERVICES TO DEVELOP NATIONAL ELECTRIFICATION STRATEGY

1. The Government of Uganda (GoU) has received financing from the World Bank toward the cost of the Grid Extension and Reinforcement Project which is aimed at increasing availability and efficiency bulk electricity supply and intends to apply part of the proceeds for consultancy services to develop National Electrification Strategy.

2. The consulting services ("the Services") include but not limited:

(i) Review current GoU electrification plans, policies, strategies and all electrification undertakings with the view of identifying not only bottlenecks but also opportunities to achieving targeted access rates. These will include but not limited to the Generation and Transmission development plans, Rural Electrification Strategy and Plan, ongoing and planned projects under the Rural Electrification Program, Electricity Connections Policy, GIS master plan, etc. The Consultant will also review Umeme's investment plans and the electrification master plans of the various service territories with the view of coming up with one harmonized National Electrification Strategy.
