Alon and Aviv to take part in FIM Africa Motocross championship

FIM Africa Motocross Championship

The Orland brothers Aviv Stav and Alon arrived in the country from the USA on Wednesday to prepare for the FIM Africa Motocross championship.

The continental event will be held on August 17 to 19 in Ndola Zambia. Defending champion Zimbabwe, hosts Zambia, Botswana, South Africa Kenya and Uganda will be taking part.

The three riders who have been training and competing in America, bring experience and quality to the team. They will be competing in the MX125 class, 85cc and 65cc classes respectively.

Team manager Diana Karugaba confirmed the development on today saying, "We are all flying to Zambia on Wednesday and this will help us to stay fresh."

Uganda won the event in 2012, but finished second in 2016 in Kenya.

The 23-man squad traveling includes Ramathan Mubiru, Malcom Tabula, Miguel Katende, Ntale Liam (50cc), Alon Orland, Akena Obote, Akaki Obote, Jeremiah Mawanda, Marcus Bukenya and Nsubuga Kriedah (65cc).

Others are Stav Orland, Fortune Ssentamu, Waleed Omar, Malcom Lubega, Wazir Omar, Sam foreman and Kylan Wekesa (85cc),Aviv Orland, Ali Omar (MX125),Fatuh Kiggundu (MX2),Maxime van pee (MX1), Barak Orland and Peter Pelser (Veterans class).
