It is a hive of activity where only money changers confidently walk with wads of money exposed in their hands. Touts holler destinations regardless of signage visibly doing the same job. Naughty vendors entice children with: toys, cookies, sweets and fruit salads.

Lovers are not spared by the hawk eyed hawkers whose arms serve as display windows for counterfeit: perfumes, necklaces, bangles, electronics and pants. Haggling here is elevated to a profession of sorts.

Price discrimination is suffered by travellers destined to Entebbe, Kololo and Buziga where the crème de la'crème of Kampala City dwellers are believed to reside. 

Pick pockets with busy fingers fish out valuables from bags and pockets of unsuspecting commuters. According to an officer at the Old Taxi Park Police Post, mobile phones, gold neck laces and lap tops are the most sought after items.

"It is only seasoned drivers who can navigate in the limited space while chatting about the English Premier League, listening to Kalisoliso or munching," confides afande with a name tag reading Best.

A new building is dwarfing the old ones with trendy frocks, a Mosque and a University of Hardship. No telephone contacts or details of the courses offered at the university have been displayed.
