KAMPALA - FUFA president, Engineer Moses Magogo has urged government to have an act of parliament enacted to award sports bodies a corporate status.

Magogo made the appeal during the Uganda Sports Press Association (USPA) and FUFA interaction workshop at Imperial Royale Hotel in Kampala on Friday, August 3.

Magogo said the current laws of registering of the Sports associations as trusts has its several challenges that affect the development of sports and conducting business in the country.

"What few are demanding is to have a corporate status by act of parliament," Magogo stated citing examples of Uganda Revenue Authority and KCCA who attained the corporate status by just an act of parliament.

In 2014 government came with the National Council of Sports (NCS) Instrument which required all sports Associations /Federations to register with NCS after acquiring the certificate of Trustees from the Ministry of Lands.
