KAMPALA - Vipers' sports club has sacked its head coach, Jorge Miguel Da Costa Duarte.

Da Costa, who joined the Venoms last year on a three-year contract was relived from his duty on Tuesday.

The Vipers SC management has on Tuesday, July 17, 2018 as part of its restructuring process and preparation for the CAF club competitions and upcoming Uganda Premier League season relieved it's head coach Miguel Jorge Da Costa of his services to the club.

"Vipers SC would like to thank Coach Da Costa for his commitment and service to the club and wishes him success in his career advancement going forward," read part of the communication from club head of communication Abdu Wasike.

Reasons leading to the coach's dismisal are still not yet clear.

Efforts to get a comment from Da Costa by press time were also futile.

However, it should be rememebred that Da Costa led Vipers to a third league title and also finished runner-ups in the Stanbic Uganda Cup last season.

His exist comes after Vipers were eliminated by Kenyan giants, Gor Mahia 2-1 in the quarterfinals of the just concluded CECAFA Club Championship.

It's not yet clear who will be in charge of the team but reports indicate that Da Costa's assistant, Edward Golola will be in charge on interim basis.
