KAMPALA - The second edition of the Kampala Premier Tennis League will kickoff this weekend.

This was revealed by Moses Bashaasha, one of the brains behind the tournament that was launched Thursday at Lugogo Tennis complex.

"We expect the second season to be bigger. The league has grown and it will run from Saturday until November for the final playoffs,"stated Moses Bashaasha.

The four-months tournament that gets underway this Saturday at Lugogo will have teams such as; Trade Kinetic, PTC Warriors, Trail Blazers, Game Changers, Lugogo boys and defending  champions, Tennis Titans take part in the contest.

Each of the teams will comprise of eight players with at least junior and Lady players. 

The tournament that will be played in a league format will have the top four teams engage in playoffs after the preliminary rounds.

The league shall also be subjected to the International Tennis Federation (ITF) code of conduct and rules.

Team Titans cruised past Team Kinetic to clinch the maiden Kampala Premier Tennis League at Lugogo Tennis Club last season.

In a tense series of games, Titans beat Kinetic 8-4 and 8-3 in the men's singles and mixed doubles respectively.

However, Kinetic wrestled back, claiming the men's doubles 8-5.
