FUFA Drum: Buganda hosts Kampala in quarterfinals

KAMPALA - Buganda Province will host their return leg quarterfinal game of the FUFA Drum Competition against Kampala Province at Mutesa II Stadium, Wankulukuku.
Previously, they have been using StarTimes stadium, Lugogo as their home venue. However, given the different activities that will be taking place at Lugogo, they were forced to change venue.
Kampala, who lost their first leg 1-0 last weekend in Mukono will need to be at their best if they are to progress to the semifinal.
At Green Light stadium, West Nile will face Bugisu despite the first leg ending in chaotic manner after fans stormed the pitch. By the time of the fans' violence, West Nile was still leading 1-0.
The FUFA Competitions Disciplinary Panel will pronounce itself on this matter today evening after receiving the referee's report from the organisers of the FUFA Drum.
Elsewhere, Acholi Province who had numerous scoring opportunities in the first leg despite losing the game 1-0 will face Bukedi in the return leg at Pece stadium, Gulu.
Bugisu's James Alitho still leads the scoring chart with eight goals.
The FUFA Drum is a newly created football tournament that is played among the 16 provinces in Uganda.
Buganda, Lango, Tooro, Karamoja, Kampala, Ankole, Bukedi, Sebei, Busoga, Bugisu, Kigezi, Rwenzori, West Nile, Bunyoro, Teso and Acholi make the 16 pronvinces.
The final for FUFA Drum Competition will be played in October on a home and away format.
