KAMPALA - Twenty teams will be in contention during the inaugural Kabira Country Club football tourney debuting on the local scene, at Kabira Country Club on Sunday.
 
Speaking at the launch of the one month showpiece, Sheena Ruparelia, the tournament director pointed out how they want the annual event transformed into a household tournament down the road.
 
 "We want to grow this tournament so that it gets bigger and better with time," she told journalists at Kabira Country club on Wednesday.
 
FUFA has embraced the five-a-side tournament in that the winner will not only be taking a trophy but also sh1m cash prize. The runner up and MVP are assured of sh500000 and sh350000 respectively.
 
FUFA marketing director, Esther Musoke who was present at the launch highlighted how glad the federation was glad to work with Kabira.
 
"Such football projects are always welcome as they help in the growth of the game in the country, we shall work hand in hand with them (Kabira) to ensure the tournament is a success," Musoke promised.
 
The teams that will kick off the first edition include; Riham, Rainbow, Hisense, Tushar Ruparelia, Katon, Satguru,Cipla, Club 194, Bet Yetu, Victoria University, Bukoto Heights and Kabira country club, for Sunday`s games that kick off at 10am.
