Gen. Kayihura can access his lawyers - Army

The Uganda People's Defence Force has allowed access to the detained former Inspector General of Police Gen. Kale Kayihura.

According to a statement signed by the UPDF spokesperson Brig. Richard Karemire, Kayihura is currently at Makindye Military Barracks, Kampala.

Karemire says the army has also allowed his immediate family to access him at the facility, promising that the force will keep updating the public on the new developments.

Kayihura was arrested on Wednesday on allegations related to the murder of former Police spokesperson Andrew Felix Kaweesi, who was murdered in March 2017.

Some other Police officers have been arrested and over the same charges and will be produced in court as investigations go on.
