FDC embarks on LC candidate search process

The electoral commission gazetted July 10 as Election Day for LC1 elections across the country.

KAMPALA - Uganda's leading opposition party, the Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) has embarked on a candidate identification process for the forthcoming local and women council elections.
 
In a letter dated June 12, 2018, the party's president, Patrick Oboi Amuriat called upon all party leaders at various levels to help in finding candidates for all the elective positions.
 
"There is urgent need to find candidates for all the elective positions. All of you party leaders need to be involved in order to have candidates nominated on July 4 and 5, 2018.
 
"This is to request you to participate in identifying and supporting candidates in your respective areas," reads a statement in Amuriat's letter.
