KCCA close in on Nkuubi

KCCA are not resting on their laurels as they prepare for gameweek three of the CAF Champions League group stages where they will face Tunisian side Esperance in Tunis on July 17.

Reports emerging indicate that the Uganda Cup holders are interested in signing midfielder Brian Nkuubi from rivals Vipers.

Nkuubi who is now a free agent after his contract at Vipers expired, is in advanced talks with KCCA.

The former Kira Young midfielder was instrumental as Vipers won their third league title and also reached the finals of the Uganda Cup where they were beaten 1-0 by KCCA in the final.

If Nkuubi completes his move to the Lugogo side, he will join Mike Mutyaba as one of the new recruits.

Nkuubi is one of many players whose contracts at Vipers have run out. The rest are Erisa Sekisambu, Ismail Watenga, James Alitho, Deus Bukenya, Shafik Bakaki, Duncan Seninde, Halid Lwaliwa, and Musa Malunda.

Midfielder Seninde is also been to linked with a move to KCCA while Sekisambu is likely to play abroad.
