CECAFA: Uganda yet to find envoy

Reports indicate that league champions, Vipers were to represent after KCCA FC pulled out due to their busy sechedule in the CAF Champions League.

KIGALI - There is still uncertainty who will represent Uganda in this year's CECAFA Kagame Cup. The two weeks event that will be hosted in Tanzania will run from June 28 to July 13. 
 
Reports indicate that league champions, Vipers were to represent after KCCA FC pulled out due to their busy sechedule in the CAF Champions League.
 
But, Vipers have also come out to deny the allegations.
 
"We also hear rumours that Vipers will represent the country in the CECAFA Kagame Cup since we have not recevived any official letter or invite from either FUFA or CECAFA,"stated Vipers' head of communication, Abdul Wasike.
 
Wasike's remarks come shortly after draws for the CECAFA Kagame Cup were conducted a few days ago.
 
Group A comprised of Tanzania's Azam FC, JKU of Zanzibar and Kator FC from South Sudan and one team from Uganda that was yet to be named.
 
Kenyan giants Gor Mahia is placed in Group  B with  Rayon Sports (Rwanda), Lydia Ludic (Burundi) and Ports (Djibouti) Group C is the group of deathcomprised of Tanzanian rivals Simba SC and Yanga Africans alongside Ethiopian giants St. George and Deekadah FC from Somali.
 
CECAFA Kagame Cup returns after two years of no action.
 
The event that was last held in 2015 saw Azam beat Gor Mahia in the final 2-0.
