MBARARA - The Chief Justice of Uganda,Bart Katurebe urged Bishop Stuart University Law students to acquire high levels of ethical standards to avoid cases of tribalism but rather be citizens who love their country.

Katurebe made these remarks on Friday as the guest of honor at the launch of the University's faculty of law.

He asked them that it should never dumpen their spirits that they are pioneers of law course in the university but rather to focus on reading their books and stay focused.

He said in the past, people would travel outside countries to study the law profession but now Universities with the country have introduced the course.

"This shows how far our country has grown. Now we are capable of teaching law students. Different Universities have got law faculties. So Study hard. The fate is in your hands.

"And when you finish your studies always endeavour to be ethical and professional in whatever you do to serve your community. That is what a good citizen ought to do," justice Katurebe said.

The function doubled as a fundraising platform to raise money for the faculty to procure law books.

The chief Justice contributed sh5m towards the cause, All together, they managed to collect over sh47m.
