Futures F1 Uganda

Nedelko  bt  Loffhagen (6-4, 6-4)

Ivan Nedelko defeated Great Britain's George Loffhagen in straight sets (6-4, 6-4) to claim the Uganda f1 Futures title in Kampala on Sunday.

The Russian overcame the Briton in show of experience as he worked his less experienced opponent into error.

Nedelko was okay with putting the ball back on the court, while Loffhagen was inclined to make shots which only helped his unforced error count whenever he missed.

Nedelko came into the tournament as the top seed and he indeed played like one against the overly exuberant teenager.

"It was a very good week for me in Uganda, although the weather is so strange sometimes it's hot sometimes its cold, but anyway I won today," the Russian said.

Nedelko will have to bring his body up to speed with the whether because he still in Uganda for the foreseeable future.

Loffhagen who had become a crowd favourite was disappointed with his result but now has gained some much needed experience.

The locals for sure have adopted the youngest boy in the competition as one of their own something he will need if he is to go on and win the Future 2 this weekend.

"It has been a good week in the finals although I didn't play as well as I thought I could. But it was great experience as I really enjoyed it," Loffhagen said.
