SC Villa beat Kirinya to keep title hopes alive

Last Saturday, SC Villa were held to 1-1 draw by Mbarara City and lost 1-0 to Vipers.

SC Villa beat Kirinya Jinja SS 2-0 on Wednesday in the Azam Uganda Premier League to keep their title hopes alive.

Last Saturday, SC Villa were held to 1-1 draw by Mbarara City and lost 1-0 to Vipers.

The victory saw Villa go second on 53 points, two below leaders Vipers.  KCCA are third with 51 points.

Martin Kizza and George Senkaba each had goal for Villa who are seeking their first league title in 14 years. Kizza took his tally to 10 goals this season, three below top scorer Nelson Senkatuka of Bright Stars.

Elsewhere, URA interim coach Sam Ssimbwa started his journey with a goalless draw against Onduparaka at Green Light stadium, Arua. Ssimbwa replaced Paul Nkata who resigned last week after URA were humiliated 7-2 by KCCA at StarTimes stadium, Lugogo.

In Entebbe, home side  Masavu played to a 1-1 draw against Mbarara City. Emmanuel Obina gave the visitors the lead through a penalty before Ibrahim Pengere leveled matters for Masavu.
