Uganda Hippos player Allan Okello feels that the 3-0 victory over South Sudan has given them confidence ahead of the next round.

Okello made the remarks after the Hippos beat South Sudan 3-0 in the return leg of the first round of the 2019 TOTAL U-20 Cup of Nations qualifiers on Saturday in Juba, to progress to the next round on 8-1 aggregate. The Hippos won the first leg 5-1 in Kampala two weeks ago.

"This is big boost for us, as we prepare to face Cameroon in the next round.The players showed great character," Okello said.

Steven Mukwala scored a brace before Okello sealed off the 3-0 victory. This was Mukwala's third goal in the qualifiers and second for Okello. The Hippos will now take on Cameroon in the next stage.

The 2019 Africa U-20 Cup of Nations will be the 15th edition of the Africa U-20 Cup of Nations. This is a biennial international youth football tournament organised by the Confederation of African Football (CAF) for players aged 20 and below.   Zambia are the defending champions.
