UMEME, UBL inject sh11m in Kabaka Birthday Run

UMEME and Uganda Breweries Ltd (UBL) are the latest companies to join the Kabaka Birthday Run on Sunday with sh5m and sh6m respectively.

The proceeds from the run will go to the treatment of the sickle cells Anemia victims

UMEME Managing Director Selestino Babungi handed over the sh5m cheque to Princess Victoria Nkinzi on Wednesday in the presence of Vision Group CEO Robert Kabushenga.

"We are pleased with our relationship with the Kingdom of Buganda. We shall participate in this run," Babungi stated before handing over the cheque.

Princess Nkinzi extended the Kabaka's appreciation to the contributions made by all the companies and individuals towards the run.

UBL MD Mark Ocitti received the run kits from Princess Joan Nasolo at the company offices in Luzira and expressed his company's commitment to continued support of the Kabaka's noble cause.

"We are delighted to be part of this noble cause and we as UBL are committed to continued support to the cause," Ocitti said.

The birthday run is co-sponsored by Vision Group, Airtel, Rwenzori Water and Post Bank.
