Peninah Kabenge elected to International Roll Ball Federation

Association of Uganda University Sports president Peninah Kabenge has been elected as vice president of the International Roll Ball Federation (IRBF) Executive Committee.

The appointment was revealed by IRBF General Secretary Raju Dabhade in a communication dated March 30.

"We congratulate you on your election on IRBF Executive Committee as "Vice President" with the consent of all IRBF Members. We request you to kindly convey your formal acceptance for this election. We are confident that your participation in the activities of IRBF in the capacity of this post will help Roll Ball reach new heights," Dabhade stated.

The former Uganda Olympic Committee general secretary becomes the first African to take up that position.

"It means that my contribution to Roll ball and sport in general is appreciated and not taken for granted.

"It is a privilege as a Ugandan and as the only African to be serving at the highest body in the world governing such a thrilling game that requires speed and balance among others," Kabenge said.

Roll ball is played by 28 member states and Uganda is one of the five African countries that play the sport alongside Kenya, Rwanda, Egypt and Tanzania
