CKI acquire pool star Nimusiima

CKI sought out Nimusiima last season, but she instead chose to finish the final year of her contract with Samona.

CKI owner Bobby Tamale's quest to create the best pool team in Uganda has taken root. It struck an even bigger chord after he acquired the country's number one female seed Rita Nimusiima from rival's Skin Samona.

In a nutshell, the Namirembe road based team now have the country's top three female seeds in their ranks including second seed Vicky Namuyanja and Angela Busingye third seed.

CKI sought out Nimusiima last season, but she instead chose to finish the final year of her contract with Samona and became a free agent at the end of last season.

The Top seed will join a formidable side that was already intimidating, but is now regarded a nightmare.

"Rita Nimusiima is a known Champion in Uganda and Africa. She has a lot of skill and will bring a lot to help others. Rashida is an upcoming player with skill although she has played less matches whereby I saw a lot of potential in her," CKI coach Bob Menani.

With this spending spree and a new home and base, not many teams are happy with the new status quo.

"We expect some negative reactions from other teams saying that CKI wants everything for itself, but that will not bother me because I am for CKI and I want the best for them," he added.

He further advised those other teams to borrow a leaf from CKI's attitude and create a team like theirs.

Surprisingly, they have not strengthened the men's team mostly because they didn't lose anyone and the like of Sula Matovu, Joram Nabaasa and Azali Lukomwa have all stayed put.

CKI also announced the acquisition of Lumax Pool Arena as the club new home and training centre.
