A bride whose wedding was nipped in the bud by the ruthless hand of death broke down as she narrated her ordeal after news started trickling in that her husband-in waiting had drowned.

Steven Kizza drowned in Aruu Falls, Gulu district on Sunday evening.

Franlkin Tuhirirwe introduced Kizza to her parents in December 2017.

Tuhirirwe says her biggest source of sadness was that the two had not enjoyed anything together. She said she looked forward to a life with Kizza, full of fun and happiness. The two looked forward to having children together, and all these hopes have crumbled to the ground.

She says her and Steven had become close and inseparable, adding that she will not be able to get a replacement for him. She told mourners Kizza was the love of her life, the best gift God could ever give to her.

Kizza was buried at his ancestral home in Kasambya, Kinoni in Lwengo district.
