MID-WESTERN UMBRELLA OF WATER AND SANITATION AUTHORITY: Uganda Water and Environment Week, 19th -23rd March 2018

Mid-Western Umbrella of Water and Sanitation (mwUws) is one of the Six (6) umbrella organizations of Water and Sanitation (UOs) that were established by Ministry of Water and Environment (MWE) to address Operation and Maintenance (O&M) challenges of piped water systems constructed by the Ministry and other Agencies involved in the water& Sanitation Sub-sector.

The organization was turned into a public water utility company last year and a total of 43 towns gazetted to it for operation and management. Among the 43 gazetted towns; mwUws is already directly managing 37 towns out of the 43 as it plans to take up all the 43 gradually.

The Authority also provides Operation and Maintenance Support to the remaining 60 piped water systems. It has 103 piped water systems in the 13 district of operation in the western region of the country; in the 13 districts the Authority is directly managing 43 towns namely; CLICK HERE FOR MORE ON THIS NOTICE
