France-Uganda friendship week set

The week will climax on Saturday 24th March at the Kyadondo Rugby Club with a rugby match between the Uganda Rugby 7s and the French army rugby team, followed by a music concert featuring some prominent local and international artistes.

FOR the second consecutive year, the Embassy of France together with the Uganda Olympic Committee will be organizing the France-Uganda friendship week.

The second edition of the France-Uganda friendship week of celebrations is scheduled to take place from Saturday 17th to Saturday 24th March 2018, in eight different locations in and around Kampala, according to a statement from the organisers.

The week will climax on Saturday 24th March at the Kyadondo Rugby Club with a rugby match between the Uganda Rugby 7s and the French army rugby team, followed by a music concert featuring some prominent local and international artistes.

The artistes will include Jose Chameleon, Irene Ntale, Navio, Congoloko (DRC) and David Walters (France).

The celebrations will be marked with music, sports and cultural activities, tourism and environment expos, food and fashion, defence and security celebrations, among others, according to a statement from the organizers.

This year, Uganda Rugby Union will join 37 other sponsors of the event.

The proceeds from this event will be used to purchase sports equipment for some disadvantaged schools.
