GRADUATION

MUKONO - Uganda Christian University (UCU) is set to graduate 373 students during its 6th schedule of the 18th graduation ceremony on Friday at Mukono main campus.

Graduands will be conferred diplomas, bachelor's degrees, postgraduate diplomas and master's degrees.

Of these, 55% (205) are male, while 45% (168) are female, according to a statement from the university's public relations office. Six students will be awarded first class degrees of which three are female.

The graduation ceremony will take place at the university's new sports ground and will be presided over by the Bishop of Mityana Diocese, the Rt. Rev. Dr Stephen Kazimba.

The ceremony will also be preceded by a commissioning service; a sendoff which is the institute's norm where graduands are prayed for by the university's chaplain, before their graduation.

The statement explains that in line with the UCU practice, graduands will walk away with their transcripts on graduation day to facilitate their quick absorption in the job market.
