Plascon Mongers players Simon Wakabi and Erukaana Jackson Wako risk being banned from rugby if found guilty of assaulting referee Charlie Mungoma and his assistants.

It is alleged that Wako and Wakabi physically assaulted Mungoma on Saturday after their side lost 45-10 to Black Pirates in the Nile Special Premier rugby league played at the House of pain Entebbe.

Rugby rules recommend a ban for any player that assaults or manhandles a referee, touch judge or official in the line of duty.

Referee Charlie Mungoma confirmed that he was manhandled by the said players and was going to report to the Union in his report.

"I feel pain in the neck. It is Wakabi and Wako who assaulted us and another fan that came and punched me from behind when I was getting off pitch with Dr. Odokonyero," Mungoma said.

"I will indicate it in my report and the rest will be the responsibility of the union," Mungoma said.

Ronald Tumusiime, Richard Odokere, Barozi Kasozi, Haruna Muhammed, Conrad Wanyama and Isaac Massa scored tries for Pirates to secure 45-10.

At Legends rugby ground, Hima Cement Heathens upset the Shell Rhimula Rhinos with a 23-15 win which dented the latter's league title chase.
