KAMPALA - Results for Senior Six candidates who sat last year's national examinations will be released today, according to the State Minister for Higher Education, Dr John Chrysostom Muyingo.

On Tuesday, Muyingo, in an interview with New Vision, said: "Uganda National Examinations Board (UNEB) has briefed us and we have given them the go-ahead to present the results on Wednesday."

The results will be released by the education minister and First Lady, Mrs Janet Museveni, in the Office of the President's auditorium in Kampala.

The ministry's publicist, Patrick Muinda, said the release of the results will start at 11:00am local time.

A total of 86,000 students sat for the Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education last year.

This is the last phase of the three examination processes handled by UNEB. Primary Leaving examinations were released early this year, followed by Senior Four, a couple of weeks ago.

Senior Five candidates are expected to report to school on Monday next week, after the headteachers concluded the selection process last week.

At least 1,072,740 candidates registered for the national examinations at all three levels last year compared to 1,068,352 in 2016.
