VALENTINE | OFFBEAT

POLAND- A fugitive Polish car thief chose Valentine's Day to give himself up Wednesday after a year in hiding, saying he had had enough of arguing with his girlfriend.

"He asked police to arrest him as he had had enough strife with his partner and of being in hiding. He said he was tired and needed a rest," Warsaw police said after the 34-year-old handed himself in.

He will now serve a 17-month jail term handed down in 2016 which will be quarrel-free - save for the maximum three hours a month his girlfriend will be allowed to visit.
