KAMPALA - Emmanuel Cardinal Wamala may be 91 but he still has the strength to catch an evening stroll.

The retired archbishop of Kampala is now living a quiet life in his retirement home at Nsambya in Kampala.

His memory is quite good, too.

The elderly clergyman has been out of the public eye since July last year, attracting debate over his state of health.

However, during a recent visit at his home, Wamala told New Vision he is fine although doctors had advised him to withdraw a bit.

"I am not sick at all, I am fine. I was only advised by doctors to reduce on my schedule and rest. They also thought I should limit my interaction with people and get a quiet place to rest," he said.

Using crutches, Wamala, donning a white cassock and red sash and a cap took a stroll around his home.
