Uganda Cup draws postponed

Feb 07, 2018

The draws had been scheduled for today

The draws for the round of 32 of the Uganda Cup will be conducted next Wednesday.

The draws had been scheduled for today, but the FUFA Competitions committee decided to postpone.

A total of 13 Uganda Premier League sides will be part of the draw, while 12 teams from the FUFA Big League will participate in the next round of the knockout competition.

KCCA are the defending champions after beating Paidha Black Angels 2-0 in the final last year at Green Light stadium in Arua.

This year's Uganda Cup final will be held in June in Kumi district. Winners of the Uganda Cup represent the country in the CAF Confederation Cup.

Last season, FUFA Big League side Paidha Black Angels who were runners to league winners KCCA  were supposed to represent the country, but they opted out.

The offer was later given to Express, Kansai Plascon (formerly Sadolin Paints), SC Villa and Vipers respectively who also turned it down.

KCCA are the only side representing the country in the inter club champions. They face CNaPS SPORT from Madagascar in the CAF Champions League.
