Owners of loitering animals to be fined

Pingire sub-county authorities have resolved to confiscate and charge the owners of animals found loitering.

According to the LC3 chairman, Michael Ongwara, the move is geared towards curbing the increasing number of loitering animals and protecting food crops such as cassava and potatoes.
 
He warns that the owners of the livestock will be charged between sh30, 000 and sh50,000  for each of the impounded animal.

"My appeal to the community is to contain these animals especially pigs, cattle, goats and sheep which loiter around destroying other people's crops," Ongwara said.

Ongwara directed the LCs to intensify operations on loitering animals in their respective villages.
