The speaker Malera sub-county in Bukedea district, David Elungat has lashed out at parents who produce many children and fail to look after them.

He attributes rampant cases of theft and robbery to parents who produce many children and fail to educate them to a higher level and as a result they opt to begging and theft.

Elungat emphasizes the need for parents to produce a manageable number of children.

"It is high time for people to wake up and plan to produce a smaller number of children that they are able to give basic need generally," he said.

He further challenges parents to groom and nurture their children in Godly manner so that they grow up as responsible adults.
